Who is Yusra Mardini?

Week 1, Activity 14: Swimming to safety.

For this activity, I had the option to listen to the podcast of Yusra Mardini, or read her story on her personal website. I chose to read her story.

On my blog, I have to retell the story of this amazing young woman from Syria.

Who is Yusra Mardini? by Kohl-lee

What is most Important to you?

Week 1, Activity 13: National  Treasure.

For this activity, we would like to learn more about the things that are important to you.
On your blog, I have to share three things that I treasure and say why they are treasures to me.

What is a Brochure?

Week 1, Activity 12: Worth her Weight in Gold.

For this activity, imagine that you were asked to create a travel brochure for Tonga (or a country that is important to you). On the brochure, includes lots of great tips about what to see and do in the country. On your blog, post your finished copy of your brochure.

If you could change your name what would it be?

Week 1, Activity 11: What's In A Name?
Muhammad Ali was one of the greatest boxers of all time. He started boxing when he was 12 years old and went on to become the World Heavyweight Champion numerous times in the 1960s and 1970s. Now the Worlds Heavyweight Champion is Anthony Joshua ( AJ).

So for this activity, I have to imagine that I was allowed to change my name to anything I wanted. On my blog, I have to tell my readers what I would change my name to and why I would choose.

Serena and Venus Williams

Week 1, Activity 10: Making a Racket.

Venus Williams and Serena Williams are two exceptional, female tennis players. They are not only outstanding athletes and some of the best tennis players in the world, but they have fought for women to be recognised as equals to men in the game of tennis.

For this activity, I had to watch two videos about Serena and Venus Williams. I had to tell my readers three things I learned from watching those videos, as well as one thing I would still like to know.

Achieving our dreams

Week 1, Activity 9: Achieving our dreams
The Silver Ferns are New Zealand’s professional netball team. They are based in Auckland and play against teams from all over the world. In order to earn a place on the team, each of the players had to prove that they were one of the best netball players in the country. They have all had to work very hard, sacrifice many things, and show dedication and determination throughout their careers. In many cases, they have also had a lot of support from others - their family, friends, teachers, coaches. This support has allowed them to pursue their dreams and to, ultimately, do a job that they love.

So for this activity, I had to ask a friend or a family member (What their dream job is?). Then I have to think of six ways I can help them achieve that goal. So I asked my friend what her dream job is. She replied, " I want to become a model."

Basketball

Week 1, Activity 8: Defying the odds.

So for this activity, I have to imagine that I had the chance to interview Lebron James, Steven Adams or another basketball player of my choice.

On my blog, I have to tell my readers who I would interview and then provide a list of five questions that I would like to ask your chosen player.

So I did six questions, instead of five.

Who want's superpowers???

Week 1, Activity 7: Team Players.

For this activity, I have to imagine that I could be a superhero for a day. What three superpowers would I most like to have?

I have to make a list of three superpowers, tell your readers why I have chosen each on, an tell us what you are going to do with them.

This is my work I hope you enjoy...
Which superpower will you choose? by Kohl-lee PARK-DAVIS

Being Brave

Week 1, Activity 6: Miracle on the Hudson
What does Miracle of Hudson mean? There was this man named Mr Chesley Sullenberger, or
(Sully), Well he became really popular and famous. He is known as an airline pilot for about 30 years. In 2009, he became world famous when he landed his aeroplane in the middle of the Hudson River in New York City  He was forced to make an emergency landing when both of the engines in his aeroplan lost power. All  155 people on board survived the landing. This amazing event became known as the ' Miracle on the Hudson'.

For this activity, we would like to hear about a time when you, or someone you know, was brave like Sully. On your blog, recount a time when you (or someone else you know) did something brave.

Today I chose to talk about me. In the photo I added a heart to it, just because... The End.

Neil Armstrong

Week 1, Activity 5: One small step for man.
Who is Neil Armstrong. He is an American astronaut. Neil Armstrong was the first person in the world to step foot and walk on the moon. His spacecraft was called Apollo 11. One of his quotes that he said was, " That's one small step for man, on giant leap for mankind".

For this task I had to imagine that I was Neil Armstrong, walking on the moon for the first time. I had to write a poem about how I felt walking on the moon. Sorry I tried to make it rhyme but I couldn't.

Jean Batten and Amelia Earhart

Week 1, Activity 4: Flying Solo.
This is about two successful women who were the first women to fly solo to different places around the world. They were named ( Jean batten) and Amelia Earhart). Amelia wanted to pull of the biggest stunt ever she wanted to fly around the whole world, but unfortunately  there was a big tragedy. She hasn't been found or seen ever since. As for Jean she past away from an infection caused by a dog bite.

For this activity, I had to compare and contrast these two aviators
(Jean Batten) and (Amelia Earhart). I had to share my comparison between the two women and be sure to include at least three similarities and three differences between these two aviators.

SPCA

Week 1, Activity 3: Scaling new Heights

So for this activity, I had to select a charity that I am interested in. I had to pick one out of four.
List of Possible Charities:

My Experiences and Cultural Background

Week 1 activity 2: Discovering Aotearoa.

Hello, So today I had to talk about my cultural background and my own experiences. Where does my family come from? I also had to remember that I need to be cyber-smart in what I share online.

One thing I enjoyed was...
1. I didn't understand the concept of what culture means.
There is more than one thing when were talking about culture like...
Your traditions, your ethnic group, your visible signs of your culture, etc.

Explorers!!!

Day 1, Activity 1...

Hello everyone, so this is my first blog post for the summer learning journey. I had to put on my thinking cap for this one, and it was the first one. Well anyways this is what we had to do...

The task was…. To make a list of ten food items that you could take with you, while you are on your voyage at sea. I had to remember that there will be no fridge, microwave, oven , etc. I had to include why I have chosen ten food items.  Once I have finished that I have to post it to my blog.

Do you love when you don't have to do Homework!!!

What!!! No HomeWork!!!

I hope you enjoy my work!!!

TAUPARAPARA!!!

TAUPARAPARA

So I have been trying to learn this for weeks, Months even. This tauparapara is very very hard to learn.

My understanding of a Tauparapara:

A Tauparapara is to bless each doorway of each Realm or Dimension, and to acknowledge Our Dearly Departed Loved-Ones Who have passed on.

Technology

Technology

So for technology we made some bread and some apple crush
(Kinda like apple crumble). As we were cooking my friend
Tai-marino put the bread in with the apple crush, But the problem was that they both needed different types of tempratures. The bread temprature needed to be 220 degrees. And the Apple crush temprature needed to be 180 c.

I loved the apple crush it was so delisious. The bread not so much.

I hope you enjoy.

Understanding Coordinates

Understanding Coordinates

WALT: Understanding Coordinates and  reading maps.

So after we just finished our recording we had to start again because we forgot to insert a background. SO WE DID ALL OF THAT FOR NOTHING!!!

Anyways I loved doing this video and making it. While we were doing this we were also doing challenges with our friends.

Do you think kids should do their homework???

Why kids should do their homework!!!

So if you can name what type of writing this is. Comment down below if you know what type of writhig this is.

I wrote about this because some of my class mates always have to run laps and write lines so im trying to prevent this from happening. Maybe it will make them independent or maybe it might wake them up, and make them stop day dreamming.

I hope you enjoy my _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ writing.

Don't worry we had cloves on.
