My Experiences and Cultural Background

Week 1 activity 2: Discovering Aotearoa.

Hello, So today I had to talk about my cultural background and my own experiences. Where does my family come from? I also had to remember that I need to be cyber-smart in what I share online.

One thing I enjoyed was...
1. I didn't understand the concept of what culture means.
There is more than one thing when were talking about culture like...
Your traditions, your ethnic group, your visible signs of your culture, etc.

  2. Kia ora Kohl-lee! How are you doing? I'm super happy because the weather is so much better today! Except inside where I work, the air con is crazy! So I'm currently wearing three layers even though it's summer!

Thank you for a lovely blog post! I've had a look through your other posts and they all look fantastic - I'm so excited to read them! I thoroughly enjoyed reading about where you came from. You provided such detailed and thoughtful information and the part about your Dad making you sing first made me laugh so much! I think te Reo is a fantastic language and I'm starting to learn it here at University in Auckland! I personally love going to Maraes and I recently (because I'm studying to be a teacher) had to teach a unit about Marae protocol, tikanga and so on! It was honestly my favourite topic to teach!

Ka pai on all your effort and I can't wait to see what else you post!

    Ngā mihi,
    Olive
