If you could change your name what would it be?

Week 1, Activity 11: What's In A Name?
Muhammad Ali was one of the greatest boxers of all time. He started boxing when he was 12 years old and went on to become the World Heavyweight Champion numerous times in the 1960s and 1970s. Now the Worlds Heavyweight Champion is Anthony Joshua ( AJ).

So for this activity, I have to imagine that I was allowed to change my name to anything I wanted. On my blog, I have to tell my readers what I would change my name to and why I would choose.

Serena and Venus Williams

Week 1, Activity 10: Making a Racket.

Venus Williams and Serena Williams are two exceptional, female tennis players. They are not only outstanding athletes and some of the best tennis players in the world, but they have fought for women to be recognised as equals to men in the game of tennis.

For this activity, I had to watch two videos about Serena and Venus Williams. I had to tell my readers three things I learned from watching those videos, as well as one thing I would still like to know.

Achieving our dreams

Week 1, Activity 9: Achieving our dreams
The Silver Ferns are New Zealand’s professional netball team. They are based in Auckland and play against teams from all over the world. In order to earn a place on the team, each of the players had to prove that they were one of the best netball players in the country. They have all had to work very hard, sacrifice many things, and show dedication and determination throughout their careers. In many cases, they have also had a lot of support from others - their family, friends, teachers, coaches. This support has allowed them to pursue their dreams and to, ultimately, do a job that they love.

So for this activity, I had to ask a friend or a family member (What their dream job is?). Then I have to think of six ways I can help them achieve that goal. So I asked my friend what her dream job is. She replied, " I want to become a model."

Basketball

Week 1, Activity 8: Defying the odds.

So for this activity, I have to imagine that I had the chance to interview Lebron James, Steven Adams or another basketball player of my choice.

On my blog, I have to tell my readers who I would interview and then provide a list of five questions that I would like to ask your chosen player.

So I did six questions, instead of five.

Being Brave

Week 1, Activity 6: Miracle on the Hudson
What does Miracle of Hudson mean? There was this man named Mr Chesley Sullenberger, or
(Sully), Well he became really popular and famous. He is known as an airline pilot for about 30 years. In 2009, he became world famous when he landed his aeroplane in the middle of the Hudson River in New York City  He was forced to make an emergency landing when both of the engines in his aeroplan lost power. All  155 people on board survived the landing. This amazing event became known as the ' Miracle on the Hudson'.

For this activity, we would like to hear about a time when you, or someone you know, was brave like Sully. On your blog, recount a time when you (or someone else you know) did something brave.

Today I chose to talk about me. In the photo I added a heart to it, just because... The End.

Neil Armstrong

Week 1, Activity 5: One small step for man.
Who is Neil Armstrong. He is an American astronaut. Neil Armstrong was the first person in the world to step foot and walk on the moon. His spacecraft was called Apollo 11. One of his quotes that he said was, " That's one small step for man, on giant leap for mankind".

For this task I had to imagine that I was Neil Armstrong, walking on the moon for the first time. I had to write a poem about how I felt walking on the moon. Sorry I tried to make it rhyme but I couldn't.

My Experiences and Cultural Background

Week 1 activity 2: Discovering Aotearoa.

Hello, So today I had to talk about my cultural background and my own experiences. Where does my family come from? I also had to remember that I need to be cyber-smart in what I share online.

One thing I enjoyed was...
1. I didn't understand the concept of what culture means.
There is more than one thing when were talking about culture like...
Your traditions, your ethnic group, your visible signs of your culture, etc.

Explorers!!!
